MAXO VANKA MURALS

A trip to see the Maxo Vanka Murals is scheduled for Thursday, July 25 at 11:30 AM at the St. Nicholas Croatian Roman Catholic Church, 24 Maryland Avenue, Millvale.
Maxo Vanka, a Croatian–American artist, was commissioned to paint the murals in 1937 and 1941. One of Pittsburgh’s treasures, the murals show a strong faith as well as a spirit of Croatia, attributes of justice and injustice, mercy and the horrors of war are also present in murals.
Our one-hour tour begins at 11:30 a.m. Be sure to bring your camera! The fee is a $10 donation per person. We will go to lunch after the tour. Carpooling is suggested. Please meet at CPCBA at 10:45 a.m.

OLD ECONOMY VILLAGE
SUNDAY, AUGUST 4
Join us from 1:00 - 3:00 p.m. for a trip to Old Economy Village. This village is a National Historic Landmark that tells the story of the Harmony Society, one of the oldest and most successful religious communal groups of the nineteenth century. We will meet at the Visitor’s Center located at 2760 16th Street in Ambridge. There will be time for a video introduction, tour of the grounds (there are benches for resting), and to shop in the gift shop. The fee is $10 payable that day plus we will meet for lunch prior (place to be announced.)
