Generosity Matters

If you were around when the original Roman calendar was developed, you will remember that March was the first month of the year.  That original calendar contained only ten months, which better explains some of the names (i.e. September through December).  And, if you do remember that calendar, you are to be congratulated!

There is much to celebrate in March this year:  March 4th is Mardi Gras (Fat Tuesday or Shrove Tuesday), March 5th is Ash Wednesday,  March 9th marks the beginning of Daylight Savings Time, March 17th is St. Patrick’s Day, and March 20th is the vernal equinox marking the beginning of spring.  If you are celebrating your birthday in March, no matter what year you were born, perhaps you will consider donating to our Birthday Challenge campaign – just mark your envelope “Birthday” to contribute.

Thank you for your generosity and for sharing your birthday celebration.
