In time for Christmas, 58 gifts were donated by CPCBA members for the Salvation Army Angel Tree drive; each was valued at approximately $25.
On December 17 the Outreach Committee lit the Joy Candle for Advent to remind the congregation of the Christmas Joy offering, a tradition going back more than 70 years among Presbyterians throughout the country. Once again CPCBA came through with donations totaling $2,738.00. As always, the funds were split into three equal shares:
- One-third was sent to the Pension Board to fund special grants for emergency assistance and other critical needs of retired missionaries, ministers, and church workers.
- One-third provided aid to Presbyterian-affiliated schools, both here and abroad, which attract students from diverse ethnic and racial backgrounds.
- One-third or $913.00 will go to “Foundation of Hope” (Allegheny County Prison Ministry)
