Mandatory COVID-19 Vaccination Policy
Purpose:
In accordance with Community Presbyterian Church of Ben Avon’s (CPCBA) duty to provide and maintain an environment that is free of known hazards, we are adopting this policy to safeguard the health of our employees and their families, our congregation and visitors, the children of Wooden Ladder and their families and the community at large from Covid-19. This policy complies with all applicable laws and is based on guidance from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the Pennsylvania Department of Health, the Allegheny County Health Department, the Food and Drug Administration and all applicable state and local health orders.
Scope
This policy applies to all employees, temporary employees, contractors, and volunteers, for both the church and the Wooden Ladder Preschool, who will interact with children under 16 both on the premises and in church or Wooden Ladder sponsored events offsite.
Procedure
Current employees, contractors, and volunteers who will interact with children under 16 are required to provide proof of Covid-19 vaccination, and completion of a 2-week waiting period, by September 15, 2021. Future employees, contractors, and volunteers who will interact with children under 16 are required to provide proof of Covid -19 vaccination at the time of hiring or the time of volunteering.
Reasonable Accommodation
Individuals in need of an exemption from this policy due to a medical reason, or because of a sincerely held religious belief, must request an accommodation to begin the accommodation process. CPCBA will engage in an interactive process to determine if a reasonable accommodation can be provided so long as it does not create an undue hardship or does not pose a direct threat to the health or safety of adults and children participating in church programs.
