I am a second career pastor who was ordained as a Teaching Elder in 2011. Since then, have served as a pastor, and a church consultant with the Unglued Church Project. It has been a privilege to serve God’s people in a variety of roles as we all seek to participate more faithfully in what God is up to in a changing world.

I received a BA in English from Chatham College, and my first career was as an advertising/marketing executive for companies in Baltimore and Pittsburgh. I completed my M.Div. at Pittsburgh Theological Seminary, and served as a student chaplain at Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh, and as an urban ministry intern at Bethesda UP Church in Homewood.

CASSIE SEMLER, DIRECTOR OF FAITH FORMATION

cassie@cpcba.org

My name is Cassie Semler, and I am the Faith Formation Director at CPCBA. I work with all age groups, but especially the youth of the church. I’ve been working in ministry for a decade, and am getting my Master’s of Divinity at Pittsburgh Theological Seminary. Allowing a brave space for all to ask the tough questions and feel comfortable in sitting with the mysteries of God is an important aspect of our work together. All (all genders, sexualities, nationalities, languages, origins, races, creeds, social status, etc.) are welcomed and affirmed!

I am a mother of 3 and a wife to an amazing partner, Tyler. We have 2 cats and a dog, and all of them love to go on hikes with us. When not working, you will usually find me reading or listening to music with my kiddos. I am a huge fan of Disney! I am a Pittsburgh transplant, but am learning to love the Steelers and Pirates anyways. My office door and email inbox are always open, and I look forward to talking with you!nce.
