Volunteer Appeal for Upcoming April 5th

Community Free Market Event

We are excited to announce the next upcoming Community Free Market event on Saturday, April 5th from 10am-1 pm.  Donations of adult and children’s clothing, household items, toys and diapers/formula are available to the community quarterly through the joint efforts of the Riverview UP Church and the Community House Church at 120 Parkhurst Street on the Northside, across from AGH. As in the past, we are collecting donations of men's and children’s clothing, household items, kids toys, diapers and formula.  Your help is needed in various ways to ensure the event’s success!

 Event Schedule:

 Sorting Donations Prior to the Free Market Day:

  • Saturday March 8th 11a-2p

  • Saturday, March 29th 11a-2p

 Event Set up:

  • Thursday April 3rd, 6p-8p

 Volunteer Shifts on Free Market Event Day, April 5th: 

  • First Shift:  9a-12p  (Set up and first half of the Market) 

  • Second Shift:  11a-2p (Second  half of the market and tear down)  

 Volunteer Roles needed on Event Day: 

  •  Porters: Moving items from downstairs to upstairs to cars

  •  Greeters: Orienting and directing attendees at the church entrance 

  •  Upstairs Safety: Ensuring attendees are going to the correct areas

  • Downstairs Safety: Ensuring attendees are going to the correct areas

  •  Food/Fellowship: Helping attendees get food and engage in fellowship while eating

  • Diaper/Formula Assistant: Assisting  the coordinator with  distributing formula and diapers

 Food Donations for the free luncheon:

  • Fruit

  • Desserts

  • Picnic side salads
