This is the day that the Lord has made...Let us rejoice and be glad in it!

Day 4 took us to the Dead Sea.  We had a day of much needed rest!  Thanks to computer technology, we were able to worship with our friends back in Ben Avon.  We sat in our room overlooking the Dead Sea and followed along with the worship service, including singing hymns and praying prayers.  Nancy even served as usher, welcoming people as they came in the room and giving them a bulletin.  We broke pita bread, and shared local wine and celebrated the Lord’s Supper.

In the land where Jesus walked and taught, healed and prayed, broke bread and fed thousands, communion had a new meaning.  We felt very close to Jesus and to our brothers and sisters in Christ thousands of miles away.  Thanks be to God for this awesome gift!

Stay tuned for more posts as we continue our pilgrimage through the Holy Land....
